A 200 sqm two storey flat will turn into an embassy of Italian Interior Design in Ningbo.
The actual state is a maze of corners, niches and unaligned elements, with beams of different height dropping from the ceiling.
The starting point of the project has been therefore a patient simplification of the interior space: an articulated system of counter walls and fake ceilings hides all the unnecessary in simpler and cleaner forms and spaces. The bottom floor is centred on a large parlour, with the terrace on the background, that gives access to a small library and a more informal TV lounge. A compact double height next to the kitchen visually links the upper floor, connected by a sculptural stair in wood. The night zone upstairs provides complete independence to the parents room and the son’s room, split by a common reading room open towards the terrace.
