A 200 sqm two storey flat will turn into an embassy of Italian Interior Design in Ningbo. The actual state is a maze of corners, niches and unaligned elements, with beams of different height dropping from the ceiling. The starting point of the project has been therefore a patient simplification of the interior space: an articulated system of counter walls and fake ceilings hides all the unnecessary in simpler and cleaner forms and spaces. The bottom floor is centred on a large parlour, with the terrace on the background, that gives access to a small library and a more informal TV lounge. A compact double height next to the kitchen visually links the upper floor, connected by a sculptural stair in wood. The night zone upstairs provides complete independence to the parents room and the son’s room, split by a common reading room open towards the terrace.Un appartamento di 200 mq a due piani verrà trasformato in un’ambasciata dell’interior design italiano a Ningbo. Lo stato attuale è un labirinto di angoli, nicchie e elementi non allineati, con travi di diversa altezza ricalate dal soffitto. Il punto di partenza del progetto è stato quindi una paziente semplificazione dello spazio interno: un articolato sistema di controsoffitti e false pareti nasconde tutto il superfluo e genera spazi e forme più semplici e pulite. Il piano inferiore è incentrato su un ampio salone con la terrazza sullo sfondo che da accesso a una piccola libreria e a una più informale stanza TV. La compatta doppia altezza a lato della cucina collega visualmente il piano superiore, raggiungibile da una scultorea scala in legno. La zona notte al piano superiore da completa indipendenza alle stanze da letto dei genitori e del figlio, separate da una sala di lettura aperta sulla terrazza.
