At the corner of the biggest urban park of the city, a new home is planned for the museum of the cultures of the world. Our proposal emphasised the corner position moulding the building as a triangle with a curved side embracing the green mass of the park. From both sides of the urban crossing, as well as from the park, the visitors have access to the main central hall digging the volume from the ground floor to the top. All the exhibition areas, the shops and the services are facing on the high void space through wide terraces. While the introverted space offers itself as a square for the city, the external interface of the building is as solemn and mute as a monument. The function is revealed by the constellation of variously shaped openings, representing windows from all the architectural cultures of world appearing behind the translucent skin.In un angolo del più grande parco della città è prevista la nuova sede del museo etnografico. La nostra proposta enfatizza la posizione d’angolo plasmando l’edificio come un triangolo incurvato da un lato ad abbracciare la massa verde del parco. Da entrambi i lati dell’incrocio urbano, così come dal parco, il visitatore ha libero accesso alla grande hall centrale che scava il volume da cielo a terra. Tutte le aree espositive, gli spazi commerciali e promozionali e i servizi al pubblico si affacciano sul grande vuoto attraverso ampie balconate. Mentre lo spazio introverso si candida a divenire una piazza per la città, l’aspetto esteriore dell’edificio è quello solenne e refrattario di un monumento. La funzione è rivelata dalla costellazione di finestre di varia forma, prestito delle culture di tutto il mondo, che si rivelano dietro alla pelle traslucida.
