Installation Bologna Water Design 2013
Bologna, Italy

In breve

For the event Bologna Water Design 2013 MIRO designed the setting of the space dedicated to the young designers: an archipelago of three freestanding volumes coated with ceramic in one of the halls of the Ospedale dei Bastardini. The installation of the studio, located in one of the pavilions, is a transfiguration of the flow of time.
Entering the hall the visitors perceive a far ticking that, approaching to the pavilion, reveals to be a rhythmical dripping.
Once passed the threshold, wrapped by a feeble gust of cold air, the device responsible of that hypnotic noise appears.
A block of ice one ton worth, placed on a thin ceramic slice, slowly melts dripping in the below pool.
The composition is regulated to release exactly one drop per second so that the resulting clacking recalls that of a clock.
